A person who contaminated treats with sleeping medication and provided them to children at a summer camp in Leicestershire has confessed to sexual offenses against two children both between nine and ten.

The senior citizen, from that region, admitted guilt to a total of 17 charges when he was present at the judicial center on recently.

Yet, he denied a single sexual charge he was facing, which was against a nine-year-old boy.

'Sweet game'

The prosecutor, presenting evidence, described the criminal behavior to the legal proceedings.

She stated his targets were children from difficult backgrounds who were participating in a summer program which he managed.

Ruben engaged in a "sweet game" with the minors, the legal counsel said, in which he would enter the children's bedrooms when they were getting ready for bed and ask them to consume candy "as fast as possible".

She told the court the defendant had conducted this practice with the children "over an extended period", and minors had previously fallen ill the next day.

She explained the man had been able to explain this over a long period as the children being "overwrought by enjoyment", until his stepson had concerns in recently.

The prosecutor continued: "In the summer" his family member had worries about what was going on, justifiably.

"They resolved" to examine in the individual's items."

The legal counsel explained materials including lubricant, petroleum jelly and syringes were located, and his family member contacted the authorities about his worries.

She stated the defendant continued to play the "candy game" with six children that night - July 26th - and they were all sick the following morning.

"The police had not gone out by that point," she stated further.

The regulatory agency, the investigative body, earlier informed that it was reviewing law enforcement's management of the events.

Mrs Prior said the youngsters were unable to walk properly due to being ill, so the family member called the authorities once more.

She said Ruben then played the "treat game" in a area of five minors.
